End of the Semester + Summer Session

May 13th is our last session for the semester!  We will conclude our study of Galatians by covering chapter 6 – “you reap what you sow” and “don’t grow weary of doing good.”  I think Paul may have saved the best for last in this letter.

We will have a special music this week made up of talent mainly from our Merry Ministries members.  You might just be surprised at who you see up there.

After the lesson, we will go to the Great Hall for a potluck luncheon and eat some of the best food in Ft. Bend County.  I hope to see you there!

Many of you have mentioned that you are interested in a summer Bible study.  Guess what?  We listened. We are going to have a Merry Ministries Summer Edition.   We are offering the Beth Moore Bible study, “Living Beyond Yourself.”  It is an in-depth study on the fruit of the Spirit.  I touched very briefly on that topic today as we covered Galatians 5, but Beth covers each of the fruit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, & self-control) in detail. Many people think this is her best Bible study.

So here’s the deal:  It’s an 11 week study.  We will start it on Wednesday, June 10th at 10am.  We will not have music or small groups.  We will meet in one of the large meeting rooms in the educational building. (I don’t have the room number yet.)  We will watch the video for the week, and then you can leave or stay for discussion of the workbook material.  You do not have to get the book (about $16) or do the homework.  It is completely optional. The homework is about 30-45 min. a day/5 days a week. It is really, really good, but I totally understand if you want to just view the video and that’s all.  We don’t think we’ll be able to offer childcare for this study.

Watch for more information in a couple of weeks.
