Happy 2010!

Happy 2010!

I hope that your Christmas was wonderful and that your new year is off to a great start!

I am looking forward to seeing all of you back in Bible study beginning Tuesday, January 12th and Wednesday, January 13th.  We will continue our study of the New Testament by diving into Paul’s first letter to Timothy.  Timothy was a young man who was half Gentile/half Jew.  His godly mother and grandmother had raised him on the Scriptures.  (As women, we can have such a profound effect on our kids and grandkids and other children.) Timothy and his family lived in Lystra (Turkey today) and Paul met them on his first missionary trip there.  On his second journey to Lystra, Paul heard good reports about Timothy’s growth in the faith and invited the young man to join his on his mission trip.  Paul mentored the young man and they remained very close the rest of Paul’s life.

There are so many lessons we can learn from the letters of 1 & 2 Timothy.  These are lessons of faith, conduct, grace, worship, courage, finances and more.  I never cease to be amazed at how current and applicable this Book is!

This is a great time to join our group or to invite a friend to come and join us.

God bless,

Mary
