Ruth (“friend”) and Naomi’s relationship is a beautiful example of faithfulness and commitment—to God and each other. The central theme of this story, though, is redemption. Boaz steps in as kinsman-redeemer for Ruth, the Moabite widow, ultimately pointing to Jesus Christ, the One who redeemed us from death and sin with His own life.
